The Simpsons Milhouse actor retires after 35 years on hit show
THE voice actor behind the iconic Milhouse character in The Simpsons has retired after 35 years.
Bosses working on the beloved sitcom will launch a casting process to replace the TV star.
Pamela Hayden has confirmed she is leaving the sitcom[/caption] The Simpsons bosses will begin casting for a replacement voice actor for the role in the future[/caption]Pamela Hayden has played Bart’s best friend Milhouse in The Simpsons for nearly 700 episodes.
However, on Wednesday the 70-year-old announced she was officially walking away from the series.
In a statement to fans, Pamela said: “The time has come for me to hang up my microphone.
“It’s been an honor and a joy to have worked on such a funny, witty, and groundbreaking show…
“I’ll always have a special place in my heart for that blue-haired 10-year-old boy with glasses.”
She added its not quite yet the end for her voice over career, saying she was leaving to “pursue other creative outlets”.
Pamela’s final episode in the role will be screened this Sunday, November 24th.
The Simpsons bosses have revealed they will begin casting for the star’s replacement in the future.
Pamela has been apart of the show since it first premiered in 1989.
The Milhouse character was named by show bosses after former US president Richard Milhous Nixon.
