Can we all just calm down about Coke’s AI holiday commercials?

We talk to Coca-Cola’s head of generative AI about the company’s experimentation with artificial intelligence, and why it’s sparking such massive criticism.

The commercial starts with a Christmas tree ornament appearing magically on a tree. Lights begin to sparkle. As we start to glimpse a convoy of trucks lit up like a Yuletide parade, a choir begins the mantra, “Holidays are coming, holidays are coming . . . ” We see a couple of kids walking in the woods next to the road, awestruck by the procession. An old man hangs lights on the house. And finally, a father and son sit in an old pick-up truck and watch the spectacle.
