Top 5 Moments of Episode 10:

1. Return to Camp: Watching this group return to camp after the elimination of Solomon “Sol” Yi was interesting. My favorite moment of the season was Christine “Teeny” Chirichillo’s anger over his elimination. The universe’s way of burning her for voting for Sol? Perhaps. Genevieve Mushaluk might have ruined that connection in a major way. Not like the latter cared as much, targeting former Tuku members with Andy Rueda.

2. An Actual Reward Challenge: The idea of teamwork makes the dream work was not in mind when this challenge was created. But, the idea of cake and iced tea would light a fire under me to drag myself through that as well as I emulated a seal on the beach. In the end, the victors were Sam Phalen, Kyle Ostwald, and Rachel LaMont. Yes, “going ham” on the food is great, but Sam trying new foods needs to be a new show. The trio spoke about targeting Gabe Ortis, especially Kyle, which was music to Sam’s ears especially due to his revenge tour. Ironically, Genevieve was their backup, which was on the money too. Meanwhile at camp, Sue Smey wanted Kyle out badly, with Andy egging her on. Gabe was smart enough to realize Kyle would target him though.

3. Teeny’s Emotional Journey: Teeny felt conflicted about her relationships in the game after the Genevieve situation and losing people she felt she could trust. Giving background as to why, we the viewers felt for her. The situation only worsened when her bag caught fire, making her mood even worse, but was viewed as a sign that there was new life in the game for her.

4. Immunity on the Line: “You and balls Jeff, I swear.” This might be my new favorite quote of the season. In what also looked like a challenge that was designed for torture, balance was key and there was also a rice negotiation, which included the possibility of every shot in the dark being lost. Sam was not so keen on this idea, calling out the others for what would be a dumb move, but gave into the idea due to peer pressure. With Kyle winning his fourth individual immunity, the pressure was on big time. With Gabe and Genevieve on the chopping block, the Tribal Council was destined to be nothing short of electric.

5. Juror #3: This Tribal Council seemed destined to create ripples amongst the castaways, no matter the result. Once again, Sam accurately compared the rice negotiation to peer pressure. With the criteria of who is the biggest threat being so subjective with the two names being floated, Gabe looked increasingly uncomfortable as the questioning continued while Genevieve was ready for either outcome. In the end, Gabe became the third member of the jury, much to his chagrin. While his allies comforted him, I could not help but think that they were overestimating his gameplay and appeal to jury members. He might be the hardest vote to get out of all the jurors.
