Tree Lighting at the Promenade at Westlake: Shop at a curated “Holiday Market” and enjoy strolling entertainment, starting at 4 p.m. Nov. 22, and then stick around for the 7:30 p.m. holiday show hosted by actor Neal McDonough, a tree lighting ceremony, an appearance by Santa Claus and a fireworks finale. The Great Los Angeles Walk 2024 – USC to UCLA: The 19th “city-wide urban hike” begins before 9 a.m. Nov. 23 at a location in Exposition Park, and ends in Westwood (approximately 14-miles). Los Angeles Union Station Tree Lighting: The 9th annual event — first time, however, in the train station’s historic Ticket Concourse — includes musical entertainment by Kingston Ska Orchestra and Los Rebeldes Romanticos, and arts and crafts, cookies, holiday characters, photo opportunities, and Santa Claus helps to lead the countdown to the lighting of the 30-foot tree, 6-9 p.m. Nov. 25. Holiday Road: A self-guided, one-mile walk to see holiday-theme light installations plus a “Winter Market” for gifts, a souvenir shop and food trucks, Nov. 29-Dec. 28. Hollywood Christmas Parade – Supporting Marine Toys for Tots: The 92nd parade kicks off, 6 p.m. Dec. 1. Grand Marshal: Jeremy Renner, actor, musician and founder of the nonprofit RennerVation that helps children in foster care and at-risk youth. Parade hosts: Dean Cain, Laura McKenzie, Elizabeth Stanton, Montel Williams. CicLAvia – The Valley: It doesn’t matter where you start on the car-free, 5-mile route on Sherman Way  — Canoga Park to Winnetka to Reseda — as long as you use people-power (biking, jogging, skateboarding, roller skating, strolling, walking), 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 8. Free to attend. Granada Hills Holiday Parade: The 41st annual parade’s theme is “Favorite Holiday Songs,” 1:30 p.m. Dec. 8. Grand marshal: Los Angeles City Councilmember John Lee. The parade includes marching bands, vintage cars, dance and drill teams, equestrians, floats, community groups, and a special appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus. Enchanted – Forest of Light at Descanso Gardens: An interactive walk-through display of lights including an area of stained glass creations. Event is rain or shine through Jan. 5.
