Razorbacks Post Strong Swims in Morning Prelims

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Razorbacks opened action at the midseason Iowa Hawkeye Invite with great swims in this morning’s prelims.

Freshman Holly Robinson swam a speedy 1:59.96 in the 200 IM, finishing 3rd and securing a spot in tonight’s A-Final. She dropped a whopping 5.55 seconds. Reka Rohacs and Sydney Craft posted strong swims in the 500 Freestyle. Rohacs placed 4th with a 4:50.43 finish, her best of the season. Craft came in at 4:52.27 which was good for a 7th-place finish and a spot in the A-Final. Bella Cothern and Delaney Harrison both punched tickets to the 50 Freestyle A-Final. Cothern swam a fast 22.44, nearly eclipsing her season-best 22.39 mark that she swam against TCU and SMU at the beginning of the month. Delaney Harrison’s 22.79 finish was her fastest of the season and earned her a 5th-place finish.

Coach Harper commented: “I thought we had a positive prelims with a lot of personal bests. We have 10 swims in finals tonight, 5 of which are in the A final. With 2 relay events and the 1 meter diving final we should have a lot to be excited about!”

The Razorbacks will be back in action this evening at 5:30 CST for finals action. The events will be streamed here.
