Holiday trash pickup schedule released for Shawnee County

TOPEKA (KSNT) - Local officials have released the holiday trash schedule ahead of Thanksgiving Day for Shawnee County residents.

The Shawnee County Solid Waste Department released its 2024 holiday pick-up schedule on Nov. 21. This includes Christmas and Thanksgiving.

• Thanksgiving holiday - Nov. 28-29.
  • Monday, Nov. 25 - Monday and Tuesday customers.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 26 - Wednesday and Thursday customers.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 27 - Friday customers.
  • Thursday, Nov. 28 - no pickup.
  • Friday, Nov. 29 - no pickup.
• Christmas holiday - Dec. 24-25.
  • Monday, Dec. 23 - Monday and Tuesday customers.
  • Tuesday, Dec. 24 - no pickup.
  • Wednesday, Dec. 25 - no pickup.
  • Thursday, Dec. 26 - Wednesday and Thursday customers.
  • Friday, Dec. 27 - Friday customers.

Shawnee County customers are asked to have their refuse and recycle bins out by 7 a.m. on the day of pickup. You can contact the Shawnee County Solid Waste Department at 785-233-4774.
