Orange County man pleads guilty to setting NYS trooper's childhood home on fire

WARWICK, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An Orange County man pleaded guilty after being accused of setting a New York State trooper's childhood home on fire as an act of revenge.

Officials said Tyler Williams, 26, of Middletown, was pulled over by the trooper and issued multiple traffic tickets in December 2023. Investigators said he found the trooper's personal information online and set the fire the next day.

Williams admitted to starting the fire when he knew or should have known that people were in the house. He pleaded guilty to arson and faces up to 20 years in prison.
