WATCH: KL Rahul’s controversial dismissal, Out or Not out? Umpire’s decision leaves star player unhappy

The dismissal of Indian wicketkeeper KL Rahul gave rise to some controversy as the player got dismissed for just 26 runs during the first Test between India and Australia on the opening match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

When taking a review, there were two spikes when the ball went to the keeper, but Rahul was looking confident and saying that the bat had just hit his pad. Starc did not miss the opportunity to ask for a review, but the replay was only from the side, which could not help in deciding if the bat had hit the pad or not.

Even though there was a lack of front angle to solidify the decision, the final call made by third umpire was based off the spike that came on the Snicko. KL Rahul was visibly sad with this decision, but there was no solid evidence to rule out the noise that came when the bat hit the pad.
