The first test match started up well for Jasprit Bumrah as he won the toss and choose to bat, but that seemed the only favor of luck India had on Day 1, opener Jaiswal and Padikkal failed to trouble the scorecard and dismissed on duck, KL Rahul was setting his eye on the pitch, in process he failed courtesy to a controversial decision by the third umpire. Virat tried to change his fortune by doing slight adjustment in his batting stance but that too didn’t pay him well as he failed short to an absolute Jaffer from Josh Hazlewood.
