'American Idol' Alum Caleb Kennedy Pleads Guilty in Fatal DUI Case, Sentence Revealed
American Idol alum, Caleb Kennedy, received his sentence after pleading guilty in his DUI case.
The 20-year-old singer competed on the 19th season of the reality show back in 2021. Although he made it to the Top 5, he abruptly exited the show after controversial social media posts resurfaced online.
He was arrested and charged with a DUI in February 2022 after being involved in a fatal crash that left one person dead.
This week, the court case came to a close when Caleb entered a guilty plea.

According to reporting by WSPA, the musician pled guilty to driving under the influence.
The crime carried a 25 year prison sentence and a fine of $25,100. However, the judge lowered Caleb‘s sentence to eight years and his fine to $15,100. He can serve three of those years at home.
According to additional reporting by Billboard, Caleb will also be on probation for five years and will face mandatory drug tests.
The musician does not appear to have issued a statement on the case. We’ll update you if we learn more.
