Jennings man convicted of manslaughter in 2022 convenience store shooting

JENNINGS, La. (KLFY) -- A Jennings man faces decades in prison after being convicted of killing a man in a convenience store in 2022, authorities said.

Tregan Kenneth Citizen, 20, of Jennings was found guilty of manslaughter Thursday for the shooting death of Manuel Jacoby Provost on June 24, 2022.

Prosecutors said the Jeff Davis Parish jury was presented with video evidence that showed Citizen and Provost got into a fistfight in which Citizen pulled a gun and shot Provost multiple times in the head.

Due to the firearm sentencing enhancement under state law, Citizen is facing a potential sentence of not less than 20 nor more than 40 years without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence. District Judge Steve Gunnell set sentencing for Feb. 19, 2025.
