These JBL Headphones Are Less Than $80 for Black Friday

Available in black, blue, and white, the JBL Tune 770NC headphones (now $79.95, down from $129.95—their lowest price ever) feature large, cushioned ear cups and a padded headband that reportedly makes them easy to wear for long stretches. The controls on the right ear cup, including a multifunction button for activating voice assistant, are said to be responsive but might take some getting used to. Just a heads up: If you prefer Alexa over your device’s default assistant, you'll need to have the Alexa app open for the voice commands to work (not a big deal, but potentially annoying). Additionally, JBL doesn’t include a carrying case or bag in the box, which might be a letdown if you travel frequently.

In terms of sound quality, the Tune 770NC headphones deliver JBL's signature powerful bass and clear highs with a solid low-frequency response. And thanks to their 40mm dynamic drivers, the bass performance remains punchy and full-bodied without distorting even at higher volumes (according to this PCMag review), making them a good fit for bass-heavy tracks or podcasts that need a bit of low-end warmth. You can also tweak the device's 10-band EQ through the JBL Headphones app to create custom sound profiles. The ANC on the Tune 770NC is decent (for the price) but doesn’t exactly redefine the category. It handles low-frequency rumbles, like engine noise, reasonably well, but reportedly struggles a bit more in busy environments like a bustling café. If top-tier noise cancellation is a priority, the Anker Soundcore Space One headphones, currently $69 (down from $99), might be a better fit at a similar price.

The Tune 770NC headphones give you the best of both worlds, supporting wired and wireless modes, with ANC and Ambient Aware features available when plugged in. That said, you won’t be able to use Bluetooth while in wired mode (they'll automatically reconnect to your last Bluetooth device that's nearby when you unplug it). Battery-wise, JBL says you get around 44 hours with ANC on and up to 70 hours with it off. While these numbers may vary depending on how loud you like your music, it’s safe to say you won’t need to charge them daily.
