Stores bundle holiday favorites for Thanksgiving savings

TOPEKA (KSNT) - With Thanksgiving around the corner, it's that time again to budget out your holiday meal. Grocery stores are getting creative to compensate. 

Dillon's tells 27 News its research team found what the 'top 5' Thanksgiving items are: stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, pumpkin pie, and turkey.

The grocery store says it has a holiday bundle with all the favorites to feed your family for under $5 per person.

"We've put together a Thanksgiving bundle here which these items are included in the cart, which will feed a family of 10 for about $4.85 per person," Sheila Regehr with Dillions Corporate Affairs said.

Hy-Vee tells 27 News it's also offering Thanksgiving meal kits. Those kits cost $5 per person for six people.

The American Farm Bureau Federation says overall Thanksgiving costs are expected to be lower this year.
