Uzbekistan exports $855 million to Afghanistan in 10 months

Uzbekistan’s state media reported that in the past ten months of the current year, the country exported goods worth $855 million to Afghanistan.

According to the report, Uzbekistan conducted nearly $900 million worth of trade with Afghanistan during this period.

The report highlights Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Afghanistan, France, and Kyrgyzstan as Uzbekistan’s key export partners during this time.

Statistics indicate that Uzbekistan exported $855.9 million worth of goods to Afghanistan and imported $28.3 million worth of goods from Afghanistan in the past ten months.

Uzbekistan is recognized as a key trading partner of Afghanistan in the region, with millions of dollars in annual trade transactions between the two countries.

Earlier, officials from Afghanistan announced that Afghanistan and Uzbekistan had agreed to increase bilateral trade to $1 billion this year and aim to grow it to $3 billion within the next three years.

Reports also show that trade between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan exceeded $460 million this year, further reflecting the growing economic ties between the two neighbors.

The trade relationship between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan underscores the importance of regional economic cooperation in fostering stability and growth. As Uzbekistan expands its export partnerships, its role as a key player in Central Asia’s trade network continues to strengthen.

For Afghanistan, increasing trade with Uzbekistan provides a vital economic lifeline amid ongoing domestic challenges. However, sustaining and expanding these trade ties will require political stability and improved infrastructure to facilitate smoother cross-border commerce.
