The 50-year-old has frequently spoken about her ‘problematic skin,’ having suffered from acne as a teenager that carried through to her 20s.

But in an interview she says that the skin condition made her feel sad on the inside.

She said: “’Probably I did look stern in a lot of pictures, but I was so uncomfortable’.

And the mother-of-four whose super slim physique is often attributed to a strict diet, also revealed that her problem skin forced her to cut out certain foods.

Husband David Beckham once told how she’s eaten the same meal everyday for more than 20 years- grilled fish and steamed vegetables.

But now Victoria has revealed that this particular regime, has helped to regulate her skin. Speaking to The Telegraph, she said:

‘It was because of my skin that I became very careful about what I ate’,

In the same interview the star admitted that she feels more confident now that she’s older and now feels comfortable attending red carpet events with minimal make up.

She said:: ‘If you’d told me a few years ago I’d step on to a red carpet to pick up an award wearing only a bit of concealer and no foundation, I’d have thought you were mad, but that’s what I did last week.’

Earlier this week the former popstar turned out in New York wearing an ethereal white dress of her own design as she attended a dinner with luxury e-commerce fashion brand, My Theresa.

The designer has collaborated with the brand to create an exclusive capsule collection for the party season.

Indeed Victoria was joined at the star studded dinner by husband David and son, Romeo, 22.

Earlier this month the star attended by Harpers Bazar woman of the year award where she was presented with a special prize by her daughter Harper, 13.

Having attended the prestigious stage school, Laine Theatre arts as a child, Victoria Beckham went onto worldwide fame as one fifth of The Spice Girls, the best selling girl group of all time.

But now in her fifties, she admits that she’s not fussed about fame. She told Harpers Bazarr magazine: “

‘I suppose it used to be fun to go out and be chased by paparazzi walking down Bond Street – and you would dress knowing you were going to get that. I don’t want that anymore.

‘I’ve been doing this too long. I suppose I did when I was growing up but, nowadays, there’s just too much going on; too busy; too many kids to worry about. I woke up at 50, and I gave a s*** less.’
