WATCH: Mitchell Starc shows anger at Usman Khawaja as the drop catch of Yashasvi Jaiswal proves costly in IND vs AUS 1st Test at Perth
New Delhi: Australia’s star pacer Mitchell Starc has been making hard efforts with the ball in the ongoing first Test against Team India. The series opener between the teams is taking place at the Optus Stadium in Perth.
Team India’s openers KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal have come up with a solid start with the bat in the ongoing game. The star batters ensured that they take their team off to a good score till the end of the day and put them in a dominating position in the game.
KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal have hardly put a foot wrong in their innings, but they have been equally tested well by the Australian pacers, in particular Mitchell Starc. The left-arm pacer has looked threatening and has troubled the batters.
It is worth mentioning that, Mitchell Starc provided his team with the chance that wasn’t taken well. The left-arm pacer bowled his heart out, but the catch was dropped, and it provided Yashasvi Jaiswal with another life in the ongoing second innings of the first Test.
On the last ball of the 41st over, Mitchell Starc bowled a full ball to which Yashasvi Jaiswal went for a hard drive and got a thick edge. The ball went towards Usman Khawaja in slips and the opening batter came up with the lazy effort.
Usman Khawaja didn’t move forward, and had he done that or stayed a bit low, he could have caught it. This made Australia National Cricket Team pacer Mitchell Starc fume at his teammate for giving a casual effort on the field.
