Premier12: USA and Venezuela take the field
World No. 4 Venezuela and No. 5 USA took the field at the Tokyo Dome for the WBSC Premier12 2024 presented by RAXUS bronze medal game.
World No. 1 Japan and No. 2 Chinese Taipei will compete for the Premier12 title in the Championship FInal at 19:00 (local time).

Mario Sanchez threw the first pitch at 12:00. With two outs, shortstop Carson Williams got the first USA hit and hustled his way to second. Sanchez walked Ryan Ward. The designated hitter became the third out trying to steal second.
The United States took the lead in the top of the third. Sanchez walked Chris Okey and Justin Crawford to lead off the at-bat. He allowed a one-out walk to Matt Shaw to load the bases. Carson Williams popped the third pitch he saw to centre field, deep enough for Okey to score from third on the sacrifice fly. Crawford advanced to third on the throw home.
Venezuela handed the ball to Oddanier Mosqueda. The left-hander walked Ward to load the bases again and hit Colby Thomas, allowing the second run. Mosqueda got out of the at-bat, getting Termarr Johnson on a slow roller to shortstop.
