BJP, allies dominate Assam and Meghalaya bypolls

The BJP and its allies secured victory in all six assembly by-elections across Assam and Meghalaya. The BJP's win in the minority-dominated Samaguri constituency in Assam, previously held by Congress for 25 years, marked a significant shift. Meghalaya's ruling NPP also won, with Chief Minister Conrad Sangma's wife, Mehtab Chandee Sangma, securing the Gambegre seat.
