Skies brighten, rain returns Monday before cold snap

Central Ohio Weather and Radar

High pressure will bring dry weather, breaking up days of low clouds. Temperatures will edge up to around 50 degrees. High clouds will fill back in this evening, keeping readings in the mild 40s tonight.

Low pressure will track from the across the Great Lakes late on Monday, bringing afternoon and evening showers and mild conditions, with highs in the upper 50s. A cold front will sweep through Ohio Monday night, ending the rain and bringing in a chilly air, with brisk northwesterly winds, as temperatures fall back into the 30s early Tuesday.

Partly cloudy and chilly weather will prevail for the two busiest travel days, Tuesday and Wednesday, ahead of the holiday. Afternoon highs will fall back into the low 40s.

A storm developing in the southern Plains midweek will bring increasing clouds Wednesday and an expanding air of rain across the Midwest. If the storm tracks north into Kentucky, a mix of rain and snow will overspread Ohio late Wednesday night and continue on Thanksgiving. A more southerly path through the Tennesse Valley would keep most of the moisture near and south of the Ohio River for the holiday.

Blustery and colder weather will follow on Black Friday and persist through the remainder of the holiday weekend, with scattered flurries and temperatures only reach the low to mid-30s.
