I made a Christmas garland for my home using a £3 buy from B&M – it’s girly, takes seconds to do and looks incredible

CHRISTMAS is just around the corner, and although decorating your home can be fun, it can also be expensive.

However, one savvy woman revealed how you make a pretty bow garland for just £3 with a bargain B&M buy.

The woman shared how all you need to do is pick up a pack of their velvet bows and glue them together to make the hanging decoration.

The bows comes in pack of six in a range of colours, from red, to pink, to green.

On her @at_the_mcgillens account, she wrote: “Those are everywhere this Christmas, and this has got to be the easiest bow garland hack that there is.

“I picked up these bows in B&M, cut the packs off, and used my hot glue gun to glue them together.

“Two packs made one large garland to go across my fireplace, and I absolutely love it.”

Many people were highly impressed with her DIY creation, and said they wanted to copy it in their own home.

One said: “I just bought these today, plan to do the same.”

Another added: “Got my bows today can’t wait to make my garland tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, one said: “I’ve made exactly the same.”

It’s not the only garland trick making the rounds.

A home expert has shared her DIY festive hack that will brighten up any home.

The decor fan demonstrated the rental-friendly trick for her followers.

In her video, Wendy (@thekwendyhome) explained: “Here’s how to hang your garland without drilling any holes.”

The Instagrammer showed her audience how to create a “damage-free garland by hanging it with a shower curtain rod.”

For her first step, Wendy took an old shower curtain rod and tightened it in a doorway at chest level.

She said: “I took the shower curtain from our guest bathroom and tested this out for myself.

“It has held up really well, I even put my heavy Norfolk pine garlands on and it didn’t budge.”

How to save money on Christmas shopping

Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how you can save money on your Christmas shopping.

Limit the amount of presents – buying presents for all your family and friends can cost a bomb.

Instead, why not organise a Secret Santa between your inner circles so you’re not having to buy multiple presents.

Plan ahead – if you’ve got the stamina and budget, it’s worth buying your Christmas presents for the following year in the January sales.

Make sure you shop around for the best deals by using price comparison sites so you’re not forking out more than you should though.

Buy in Boxing Day sales – some retailers start their main Christmas sales early so you can actually snap up a bargain before December 25.

Delivery may cost you a bit more, but it can be worth it if the savings are decent.

Shop via outlet stores – you can save loads of money shopping via outlet stores like Amazon Warehouse or Office Offcuts.

They work by selling returned or slightly damaged products at a discounted rate, but usually any wear and tear is minor.
