'Shogun' Season 2 Casting Updates: 3 Actors Could Return, 1 Star Confirmed to Reprise Their Role

Shogun season two is in the works!

The Emmy-award winning FX series was renewed for two more seasons in May 2024 and we are still awaiting more new updates.

Following its first season, the show earned a whopping 25 nominations at the 2024 Emmy Awards, and it won 18 of those, including a history-making win for Anna Sawai.

Based on James Clavell‘s novel, the series is set in Japan in the year 1600 at the dawn of a century-defining civil war. Lord Yoshii Toranaga is fighting for his life as his enemies on the Council of Regents unite against him, when a mysterious European ship is found marooned in a nearby fishing village.

With all the buzz surrounding Shogun and in anticipation of the second season, we’re taking a look at who all is set to return for season two and who likely won’t be.
