Map shows where 361 flood warning are in place across UK today

Hundreds of flood warnings are in place across the UK today as Storm Bert moves away from the British Isles.

159 warnings have been issued, ranging from Manchester to Plymouth, after Storm Bert caused severe flooding in south Wales, leaving five dead.

Winds battered much of England and Wales this weekend, with the Met Office issuing yet another wind warning in Scotland this morning.

A flood warning with a ‘danger to life’ has been issued near the River Nene, near the Billing Aquadome Holiday Park, in Northampton.

Alerts are also being issued for the River Avon, ranging from Bristol to Chippenham; and the Rivers Severn, Teign and other waterways.

202 flood alerts have been issued to areas where flooding is ‘possible’, including Burton Trent, Exmoor, Bristol, North Cornwall, the River Trent, and other areas.

At least five people are reported dead following the storm. The Welsh First Minister Eluned Morgan said it has been ‘a really difficult weekend’ and it is ‘absolutely devastating’ for those affected by flooding after Storm Bert hit.

Speaking to broadcasters, Baroness Morgan said: ‘It’s been a really difficult weekend, and I’d like to thank the emergency services for all the support they’re giving to the people affected.’

A body was found in search for a 75-year-old dog walker Brian Perry in north Wales.

Another man in his 80s died when his car became submerged in Colne, Lancashire on Saturday.

Major travel disruption has hit the railways between Broxbourne and Stansted Airport where passengers have been told ‘do not travel’ after damage to the overhead wires.
