Stolen Nike Jordan shoes worth over $200,000 recovered during California arrests

Seven people suspected of stealing over $200,000 worth of Nike Jordan shoes from a train were arrested in Anaheim on Friday, Nov. 22.

The shoes were stolen from a train container near the community of Amboy in San Bernardino County, the California Highway Patrol announced, though authorities did not say when the theft occurred.

The CHP Border Division’s Cargo Theft Interdiction Progam tracked the suspects’ U-Haul and a connected pickup and pulled them over.

Officials said burglary tools used to break into the train container were also found during the stop. The number of Nike Jordan shoes taken was not disclosed.

All seven suspects were booked at the Orange County Jail on felony grand theft of cargo. No information about them was provided.

The Inland Empire is one of the four regions in California most impacted by cargo theft, according to the CHP. The others are Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay area and San Diego.

A CHP spokesperson could not be reached for additional information on the Nike Jordan case on Sunday.
