New Delhi: Former India pacer Vinay Kumar has strongly reacted to Sanjay Manjrekar’s comment, calling him a “120 kmph bowler” during Day 3 of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test in Perth. Manjrekar made the remark while discussing with Mark Nicholas and Russel Arnold, explaining that the grassy pitches in India, which are favorable for medium pacers like Vinay Kumar, played a key role in his success as a top wicket-taker.
Former India pacer Vinay Kumar has hit back at Sanjay Manjrekar’s comment made during Day 3 of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test in Perth. Medium pacers like the Vinay Kumar, with no disrespect to him, were topping the wicket-taking charts because all they needed to do with grass on the pitch was put the ball at 120 kmph in the right area, and they got wickets.”

The 40-year-old former pacer has represented India across all three formats, taking 1 wicket in Tests, 38 in ODIs, and 10 in T20Is. His domestic record is even more impressive, with 504 wickets in first-class cricket, 225 in List-A matches, and 194 in T20s.
