If you're stumped for what to gift your favorite home chef in your life, I have a suggestion: I am a prolific home cook myself, and the best thing I ever did was buy myself an automatic pot stirrer. And right now, it's on sale for Black Friday for $59.13 (down from $69.57). 

No, a pot stirrer is not a tool for the lazy; I’d argue that it’s a tool for efficiency, for automation. If you’re not standing over a stove stirring, you can be working on another part of the meal (and nothing is going to get burned).
