Glen Powell’s Mom Judged His Lookalike Contest

Just when you thought the celebrity lookalike competitions were played out, here come a bunch of guys who actually do look like Glen Powell. A lookalike competition for the Twisters actor was held in Austin, Texas, on Sunday, and the gaggle of hunks was judged by someone who really knows her stuff: Powell’s mom, Cyndy.

Cyndy Powell and Kathleen Fish, the actor’s aunt, were the VIP judges at Sunday’s competition, and awarded the grand prize (cash, a cowboy hat, and free Torchy’s queso for a year) to a guy in a Top Gun flight suit. Powell’s family members weren’t the only special guests — the big man himself made an appearance via a pre-recorded video in which he welcomed everyone to the “Justin Hartley lookalike contest” and offered up a prize of his own.

“I know there is some cash and a hat at stake here, but I just wanted to say that the winner of today’s contest gets a personal prize from me,” Powell said in the video, looking very grimy on the set of the Running Man reboot in London. “Now, you may know that my parents make a cameo in every movie I make, but today, the winner of the Glen Powell lookalike contest wins their parents or any family member of their choice a cameo in my next movie. I am completely serious. This is a cash-value prize of $6 billion.”

Funny! On that note, it actually is time to wrap this up. There’s nowhere to go from here unless we take this in a completely different direction. That being said, please spread the word about my Richard Kind lookalike contest this Saturday at Barney Greengrass.
