White House Confirms Biden Will Attend Donald Trump’s Second Inauguration

Donald Trump’s 2017 inauguration

The White House has confirmed that Joe Biden will attend Donald Trump’s inauguration in January.

Trump will be inaugurated for the second time outside the United States Capitol on January 20th and Joe Biden and his wife Jill will both be in attendance.

“The President promised that he would attend the inauguration of whomever won the election,” said Andrew Bates, senior deputy press secretary at the White House.

“He and the First Lady are going to honor that promise and attend the inauguration.”

While it has not yet been confirmed, it is also likely that as the outgoing vice-president, Kamala Harris will also be in attendance.

Trump and Biden met at the White House after Trump’s stunning election victory and appeared to be on remarkably friendly terms.

“Congratulations. Look forward to a smooth transition,” Biden said during the meeting. “Welcome back.”

“Politics is tough and it’s in many cases not a nice world, but it is a nice world today,” Trump responded. “I appreciate it very much.”

After the events of January 6th and the voter fraud that tainted the 2020 presidential election, Donald Trump did not attend Joe Biden’s inauguration.

During Trump’s first inauguration back in 2017, both Joe Biden and Barack Obama were in attendance. His opponent, Hillary Clinton, was also in attendance in her capacity as a former First Lady.
