2024 International Emmy Award winners include ‘Drops of God,’ Timothy Spall
The 2024 International Emmy Awards took place Monday night in New York, honoring the finest shows made outside of the United States, with nominees coming from 21 countries, per The Hollywood Reporter.
The night’s big winners were Apple TV+’s French-Japanese anime adaptation “Drops of God,” which won best drama series; Netflix’s Argentinian satire “División Palermo” winning best comedy series; Netflix’s German thriller “Liebes Kind” winning best limited series; Timothy Spall, who won best actor for the BBC’s crime drama “The Sixth Commandment;” and Aokbab-Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying, who won best actress for Netflix’s Thai chef drama “Hunger.”
Two honorary awards were given out during the ceremony, which was hosted by comedian Vir Das. Sidonie Dumas, CEO of French film and TV producer Gaumont, received the International Emmy Directorate Award, which “Lupin” star Omar Sy presented to her. And legendary TV producer David E. Kelley received the International Emmy Founders Award, which was presented to him by producer Michael Pressman.
