I work on a ‘spicy’ cruise ship & people are shocked about what happens on board – especially in the ‘red rooms’
A WOMAN who works on a ‘spicy’ cruise ship has revealed what it’s really like to sail the seas on the action-packed ship.
Unlike your average cruise, so-called ‘spicy cruises’ revolve largely around the saucy activities that take part aboard the ship.
Kate Shelor worked for a company, called Temptations, which runs these adult-only cruises and buys out the entire ship for it’s frisky clientele.
Kate, who is based in Las Vegas, is a sex and relationships expert as well as an intimacy coach and hypnotherapist.
It’s these skills that lead her to taking on a job with the company.
Having travelled twice on the intimate journey, Kate opened up about what really goes on between closed doors, including the elusive ‘red rooms’.
Although they’re not specifically for swingers, the cruises are popular with many from the swinging community, and do many chose to swap sexual partners.
Speaking to LadBible, Kate revealed that part of her role involved working in the ‘red room’ of the ship, which is one of the big selling points for many holiday-makers.
But what is a red room?
On Temptation’s spicy cruises the red room is a place where a lot of the action takes place.
It’s described as a ‘friendly space for those looking to experiment with their sexuality in a space where freedom reigns’.
Phones and cameras are strictly not allowed in the red room, and the doors are guarded by staff too.
However, the red rooms are only for couples, with single people only allowed to enter if a couple brings them in.
“They bring all their own people and they will choose a large space on the cruise ship for this and they bring in brand new mattresses,” Kate said.
“You’ll see them loaded on to the ship as you’re boarding. As well as tonnes of clean sheets.”
“They will make this room up every night with tonnes of mattresses on the floor, plastic covers, and then sheets on top. There’s towels and water. It looks sexy with sexy lighting,” she continued.
The room itself is often one of the bigger rooms on the ship since they’re so popular with guests.
Mattresses are scattered across the floor, for obvious reasons, but you don’t have to get involved in the action and can just have a drink and watch too, Kate explained.
As for Kate’s role in the red room, her work involved leading “hypnotic sex sessions” with the goal to have large group of up to 80 people to climax at the same time.
“I teach people a little bit about the subconscious mind and then I have everyone in the room on their own mattresses within their relationship and I have everyone close their eyes,” she said.
She described the experience as as “really cool”.
How much does it cost?
Temptation Cruises can set you back as much as $31,000 (£24,732) for it’s top package in it’s three-bedroom cabin on a Caribbean cruise setting sail next year.
Meanwhile, a smaller room for just two people will cost around $2,250 (£1,794).
The company promises a “sense of freedom and empowerment you never knew existed, and not to mention an insane amount of fun.”
Are cruise ship staff allowed to sleep with guests?
Sleeping with the guests is strictly prohibited on board cruise ships, with strict consequences for any member of staff caught copulating with a tourist – but that doesn’t stop it happening.
One ship worker, who worked on a Celebrity Cruises boat, explained: “Fraternisation with passengers is strictly forbidden – any crew member even suspected of being with a guest is asking for big trouble.”
He went on to explain that the rules were put into place “after a number of incidents of guests utilizing a variation of the ‘honey trap’.”
“Guests would lure unsuspecting crew to their cabins, sleep with them and then the next day claim sexual assault and filing lawsuits against the cruise line,” he said.
However, another former cruise ship musician said that fraternising with holidaymakers is so commonplace that staff even have a special term for it.
“We call sleeping with passengers ‘coning’ as passengers were ‘cones’,” he said.
“We know the all the nooks and crannies the cameras don’t reach.”
