‘Diabolical’: Judd Trump leaves commentator in disbelief with worst break-off seen in ‘some time’ vs Neil Robertson
WORLD No1 Judd Trump played a “diabolical” break-off in the early stages of his UK Championship first round match against Neil Robertson.
At the start of the second frame, the 35-year-old’s break clipped the edge of the pack and moved just three reds.

Trump‘s shot left commentator Neal Foulds in complete disbelief.
He said: “It’s a wild and woolly break-off shot, and he actually hit the yellow, just glanced it on the way back up the table.
“It was a diabolical break actually for a top player. It’s the shot that’s played more than any other, and he’s completely butchered it.
“He’s hit the red so thin and he just glances the yellow. I don’t think I’ve seen a top player misjudge a break-off like that for some time.”
Robertson went on to win the second frame to go 2-0 up in the first round clash.
“It’s unusual to come inside the blue, he completely mistimed it,” said Eurosport pundit Jimmy White.
“He just completely mistimed it – one of mine.”

Reanne Evans went on to add: “Generally if you see a mishit on the break it’s normally pretty thick because you’re allowing for the side to throw it back out.
“But it seems he’s got too much reaction on the cue ball so he’s hit it [the pack] really thin and gone the wrong side of the baulk colours and the blue.
“I think he may have flicked the yellow, but it’s just an odd reaction.
“With Trump, he comes across the ball a lot, so maybe the conditions aren’t what he’s used to, and he’s trying to adapt a little bit quicker than he normally does.”
