Former KS Republican congressional candidate arrested again
TOPEKA (KSNT) - A former Kansas Republican congressional candidate, Michael A. Ogle, 44, is in custody for the second time in less than a week.
The Shawnee County Sheriff's Office (SNSO) announced Tuesday, Nov. 26, Ogle is in custody after the execution of a felony arrest warrant. He is facing additional felony criminal threat charges after an investigation into threatening messages.
The SNSO Criminal Investigations Division arrested Ogle after investigating threatening messages he sent. Ogle was booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on one charge of criminal threat. He also had a felony warrant for his arrest for the following charges:
- Criminal threat
- Interference with law enforcement
- Unlawful request for emergency services assistance
On Nov. 22, Ogle was arrested on charges of interference with the judicial process and harassment by telecommunications device. His arrest comes from allegations that he harassed a Shawnee County District Court official several times.
