O’Hora: We Showed A lot Of Character

Hibs defender Warren O’Hora spoke to Hibs TV after a dramatic 3-3 draw with Aberdeen at Easter Road.

It was a chaotic night at Easter Road – which saw the lead change hand three times – as we rescued a point in the final minute thanks to Rocky Bushiri’s late strike.

Speaking to Hibs TV after the match, Warren summed up a hectic 90 minutes.

“It’s hard to put that into words. First of all, I thought the lads showed a lot of character to get back into the game. There were three goals in injury time and we got two of them. Fair play to the lads for sticking to it and getting a point, but we are disheartened in there that we didn’t take three points.

“I don’t want to sound like a broken record - but I thought we should’ve had the win in my opinion. I thought we did enough in the game, let’s not forget that Aberdeen are second in the table and we went toe-to-toe with them tonight.

“We started the game really well, we went in at half-time with a 1-0 lead and then we started the second half positively. We hit the post and there were a few little things that didn’t go for us, but we stuck together. There has been questions about the character of this group over the last couple of weeks - but we put that to bed today by sticking together till the end.”

There were three goals in injury time, with Nicky Cadden getting us back to 2-2, before Sokler put Aberdeen back in-front with an acrobatic effort in the 96th minute. The Hibees didn’t give up however, with Rocky Bushiri smashing the ball home a minute later to rescue a point.

“I couldn’t believe it at one stage, particularly when they score their third goal like that. That is football sometimes, it is the game we all love - for a neutral that was probably amazing to watch. On the pitch, my heart was thumping when those goals were going in at the end.

“It’s a point for us to build on, we know we can still be better, there is no doubt about it - but all the lads stuck together, staff included, we are all right behind everybody.

“Rocky said that was his first goal for the Club. I am absolutely buzzing for him, he hasn’t played a lot this season so to come and train the way he has been, he is a credit to the Club and to himself. He is a big part of this squad, everyone is really happy for him and you saw that today with the celebrations.”
