Gray Praised His Players’ Character After Aberdeen Draw

David Gray lauded his playing squad for the character, effort and endeavour they showed against Aberdeen in the 3-3 draw at Easter Road.

The game was full of drama, especially in the last six minutes, with Rocky Bushiri scoring a last-gasp equaliser.

When speaking to Hibs TV after the game, our Head Coach gave his immediate thoughts.

“It’s mixed emotions to be honest. We played really well in the game and got ourselves ahead, but I think we deserved to win it on chances created.

“There’s been a lot of questions asked about the character and mentality of the group, and I think they demonstrated tonight that they’re trying to turn this around through their effort and endeavour.

“We went right until the very end and got at least what we deserved.”

Gray is now hoping that the huge moment at the end of the game can be a turning point for the Hibees.

“You’ve seen the energy at the end of the game (after our equaliser). We’ve been on the receiving end of these moments this season.

“We only get a point, but the atmosphere is different when you score a last-minute equaliser. You saw that in the stadium, the crowd’s reaction and the support we got drove us on. We need them to keep doing that, especially in difficult periods. If we put in performance levels like that and show that desire, then we will turn this around.”
