Sri Lanka set to leave Pakistan due to Political Protest before the Champions Trophy 2025
Sri Lanka A, who are currently in Pakistan for a series against Pakistan Shaheens, are set to return home earlier than expected due to the political distress in Islamabad.
After consulting with Sri Lanka Cricket Board, the Pakistan Cricket Board gave the confirmation about postponing the last two ODI matches between Pakistan Shaheens and Sri Lanka A.
After Pakistan Shaheens beat the visitors by 108 runs in the first game, the rest of the two matches that have been postponed were going to be held in Rawalpindi.
The PCB have stated that the two boards will work together to finalise the dates to complete the series.
The former Pakistan captain and Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, started a protest match towards main Islamabad on Sunday.
There have been reports of incidents about clashes and violence between protestors and law-enforcements.
The federal interior minister Mohsin Naqvi, also the chairman of PCB had announced that the army had been called in to put this issue to rest.
