That was the difference last night, along with a much higher tempo. The ball was zipped around much quicker, and played forward a lot more quickly too.
Exeter we’re pulled all over the place and lost their shape and that created the space for us to exploit.
I’ve used the phrase “possession for the sake of it” recently, and that was definitely not the case last night. It was a massive improvement.
That could have been an absolute thrashing if we’d had a higher percentage of attempts on target and our corners and free kicks weren’t so wasteful.
