Feasting, shopping and traveling this Thanksgiving? Here’s the weather outlook for the DC area
Thanksgiving revelers and Black Friday shoppers might not gobble up the cold and rainy weather that’s about to ripple through the D.C. area.
Here’s what you need to know.
Wednesday will be dry with temperatures near 50 degrees, but rain is expected to move in after midnight.
Cold showers are going to continue into Thanksgiving morning. Along with the showers patchy fog is possible. The rain should filter out of the area some time after noon.
If you’re hunting for Black Friday deals, you’ll probably want to bundle up: Temperatures are expected to be in the 40s along with some breezy conditions.

The weekend carries with it a cold alert, with temperatures tumbling into the 30s and 40s for highs and the teens for lows.

Clouds will be on the increase ahead of the next weather-maker, with rain moving in after midnight across the area.

Rain totals around half an inch is forecast across the area. Patchy fog is likely Thursday morning with high humidity and light winds.
THANKSGIVING:
Morning rain
Highs: 50-55
Winds: South turning Northwest 5-10 mph
Rain continues during the first half of the day. The weather-maker should lift out of the area after 12 p.m. With rain ending from west to east. Temperatures stay mild in the 50s.
FRIDAY:

Highs: 43-48
Winds: Northwest 10-15 mph
Mostly sunny skies and lower temperatures in the 40s across the area.
THIS WEEKEND: COLD ALERT
Chilly, mostly sunny
Highs: 36-42
Lows: 18-28
Winds: Northwest 15-25 mph
