Tottenham star insists 'you can't compare me to any other player'

Dejan Kulusevski believes that one attribute sets him apart from every other player in world football and admits that he has matured as a footballer this season.

Most of us are running out of superlatives to describe Dejan Kulusevski, with the Swede continuing to show different strings to his bow every week.

Not only has he been Tottenham‘s best player so far this season but he has been the standout performer in almost every single positive result that the side has had.

He once again turned it on at the Etihad on Saturday, with the City defence struggling to cope with his movement, strength and inventive play.

Kulusevski says he has a huge advantage over others

The Spurs attacker insists that his ability to keep running for 90 minutes means that no player can out-work him on the pitch.

He confessed that he is now in a great moment in his career, but remarked that rather than resting on his laurels, he is always finding ways to improve.

When asked if he feels unstoppable, Kulusevski told The Standard: “Yeah, I feel like that. I feel very good, and I’m trying to keep it this way. I’m very happy, I’m trying to improve… I started the season good, but there is over half of the season left and I hope I can do much better.

“I think I have something that no other player has, so you can’t compare me to any other player. Of course, I watch other players, I take the best stuff from them, but with my engine, you know, with my heart, I don’t get tired.

“I don’t get tired and I can’t let anybody outwork me. That’s the plan. That’s how I play and how I train. I feel like I can do a lot still in my career. Clearly, you have to strive to be as good as possible, every day in every kind of way, on the pitch and outside of the pitch.”

The former Juventus man also admitted that he is maturing as a footballer and is now enjoying the game a lot more than he did previously.

Kulusevski continued: “Right now, I’m doing my best and I’m really not demanding anything for myself. You know when a mistake happens, it happens. So I’m maturing a lot and I’m enjoying my football a lot more. I’m improving, I’m getting more mature now as a forward also.”

The 24-year-old explained that he is keen to take on more responsibility and become one of the leaders of his young Spurs side.

He added: “That’s important for the club that I take responsibility and I help the young players, they really trust me and I believe in them a lot, so I know we enjoy playing together.”
