Portland's White Stag nose lights up red for the 2024 holiday season

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Continuing a Portland tradition, the White Stag sign’s red nose made its debut for the holiday season Wednesday afternoon.

The stag’s red nose was officially lit around 4 p.m. in Old Town.

The sign was erected in 1940 and in 1978, the sign was designated a historic landmark. The stag was later donated to the City of Portland in 2010.

The stag nose lighting comes days after Portland’s iconic martini sign was lit Nov. 22.

The 30-by-30-foot martini sign in the Southwest Hills of Portland is hard to miss. The iconic light went up in 2015 and is made of plastic pipes and LED lights.
