Lala Kent & Scheana Shay Might Have a New Show Lined up Amid 'Vanderpump Rules' Recasting

Fans are hoping Lala Kent and Scheana Shay are making a strategic move to join The Valley amid the news that Vanderpump Rules is getting a whole new cast for season 12.

Kent and Shay, who are longtime cast members on the hit reality TV show, will not appear in the next season of Vanderpump Rules, per an announcement from Bravo, via Us Weekly, on Nov. 26 that revealed season 12 will star Lisa Vanderpump and a whole new group of server “who are as complicatedly involved with one another as their iconic predecessors.”

Production is set to begin in 2025 but no details about the new cast or a premiere date have been revealed. However, fans in the VPR universe have long suspected that Kent and Shay might pivot to Bravo’s Vanderpump Rules spin-off series, The Valley, and this casting news is only causing more speculation.

The Valley, which aired its first season earlier this year, followed former Vanderpump Rules stars Kristen Doute, Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright, and their new group of friends navigating parenthood and adult life in California’s San Fernando Valley. Considering Kent and Shay swapped partying for parenthood during their time on Vanderpump Rules, they certainly fit the criteria for The Valley.

Are Lala Kent & Scheana Shay Joining ‘The Valley’ Season 2?

Bravo have not officially announced if Kent and Shay are joining the main cast of The Valley for season two. However, Deadline confirmed on Nov. 26 that Kent and Shay did film for the new season. Shay’s husband Brock Davies and their Vanderpump Rules cast mate Tom Schwartz also filmed for The Valley.

Shay and Kent, who also made fleeting appearances as guest stars in season one, were seen at The Valley star Brittany Cartwright’s pool party in August where cameras appeared to be rolling. Shay and Kent also appeared in several Instagram posts with Cartwright and fellow cast mate Janet Caperna over the summer while filming for season two was taking place.

However, this could all just mean Kent and Shay will appear as guest stars next season.

Fans of the show seem to have mixed feeling about Shay and Kent potentially joining the show. “I’m so happy they will be on The Valley!!! The show was EXTREMELY dull & boring. Now it’s gonna be much better!!!” wrote one commenter under photos of Shay and Kent filming with The Valley stars.

“Ughhhhhhh we don’t need or want them on The Valley,” wrote another.

For now, the former Vanderpump Rules stars are grieving the end of their show. “I have such mixed feelings right now,” Kent wrote on Instagram after Bravo’s announcement. “It’s no secret I do not like change. This is the exception. I want to say thank you for rocking with us for so many years. This show changed my whole life. I’m unbelievably grateful for every moment. I’m unbelievably grateful for Bravo, for NBCU, for our crew, the entire cast, and most importantly all of you. We rocked this bitch until the wheels fell off.”

Who Is in ‘The Valley’ Season 2?

All of season one’s cast is returning for season two of The Valley including Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright, Kristen Doute, Doute’s fiancé Luke Broderick, Danny Booko and Nia Booko, Jesse Lally and Michelle Lally and Jason Caperna and Janet Caperna. Jasmine Goode and Zack Wickham will also return.

Season two filmed over the summer but there is no word yet on when it will air. The show is set to pick up shortly before Cartwright officially filed for divorce from Taylor and after Jesse and Michelle announced their breakup.
