After the UK was battered by snow, ice, heavy rain and flooding brought by Storms Bert and Conall, parts of the country have been covered in thick fog and freezing temperatures.

After days of rough weather, the Met Office has issued further yellow weather warnings for fog.

Patches of thick fog mean poor visibility and temperatures below zero can create hazardous travel conditions in London and the South East England, North West, South West, East and West Midlands and parts of Wales until 11am, and in most of Northern Ireland until 8am.

Visibility in foggy areas could fall under 100 metres, the forecaster warned. A string of flights have been cancelled at Belfast City Airport yesterday and this morning until after 7am.

Elsewhere, 72 flood warnings remain active across England and another 150 flood alerts are also in place.
