THIS star Indian batter ruled out of Australia series…replacement named

New Delhi: India Women vs Australia Women: The Indian women’s cricket team will play a three-match ODI series against Australia in December. The squad for the series was already announced by the BCCI, with Harmanpreet Kaur appointed as the captain. However, just before the tour, the Indian team has received a major blow as wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia has been ruled out of the Australia tour due to an injury.

Yastika Bhatia suffered a wrist injury during the Women’s Big Bash League. This has been confirmed by the BCCI medical team. Her recovery is now being closely monitored. Meanwhile, the Women’s Selection Committee has included Uma Chetri as her replacement in the team. This information was shared by the BCCI through a tweet.

Uma Chetri has played only four T20I matches. Compared to Yastika Bhatia, Uma Chetri is less experienced. The 22-year-old Uma made her T20 International debut for India this year and has played just four T20I matches, scoring 9 runs. On the other hand, Yastika Bhatia has played 19 T20I matches for the team, scoring 214 runs. However, it will be difficult for Uma to make a place in the playing XI as India already has Richa Ghosh as the wicketkeeper.

The first and second ODIs between the Indian Women’s team and the Australian Women’s team will be played at the Brisbane ground. The third and final ODI will take place on December 11 at the Perth ground. All three ODIs will start at 9:50 AM IST.
