How to save money on Christmas shopping
Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how you can save money on your Christmas shopping.
Limit the amount of presents – buying presents for all your family and friends can cost a bomb.
Instead, why not organise a Secret Santa between your inner circles so you’re not having to buy multiple presents.
Plan ahead – if you’ve got the stamina and budget, it’s worth buying your Christmas presents for the following year in the January sales.
Make sure you shop around for the best deals by using price comparison sites so you’re not forking out more than you should though.
Buy in Boxing Day sales – some retailers start their main Christmas sales early so you can actually snap up a bargain before December 25.
Delivery may cost you a bit more, but it can be worth it if the savings are decent.
Shop via outlet stores – you can save loads of money shopping via outlet stores like Amazon Warehouse or Office Offcuts.
They work by selling returned or slightly damaged products at a discounted rate, but usually any wear and tear is minor.
The pink headphones come with a microphone, a 1.5 metre cable and a 3.5 mm jack.
For party lovers, Primark has a sparkly disco ball bottle stopper on offer for £4 and dinner party fans can be up a pair of stylish dinner candles for £1.50.
And for those who’ve decided to ditch their curling irons, you give yourself gorgeous wavy locks with a heatless curling set, priced at just £3.50.
Beauty lovers will also no doubt want to be treated to a pack of magic hair clips, which are priced at £3 and are perfect for holding your hair back in place whilst you’re doing your makeup.
Another of the cheap gifts on offer is a dupe of Dior’s £33 Lip Glow Oil.
It’s just £2.50, making it £30.50 cheaper than the designer version and comes in three different colours, orange, peach and hot pink.
