Reading & Leeds fans convinced they’ve worked out festival headliner – and he’s a HUGE rap star
FANS attending Reading and Leeds Festivals believe they’ve cracked the code over who will take star billing at next year’s event.
While the likes of Eminem and Travis Scott‘s names are being banded around, some have suggested it will actually be another rap star who’ll take centre stage.
Reading and Leeds is one of the UK’s biggest festivals[/caption] Central Cee is the first UK rapper to get 2 billion streams on Spotify[/caption]The rapper they reckon will take top spot at the festival, which runs from August 21-25, simultaneously between Berkshire and Yorkshire, comes from a lot closer to home.
Shepherd’s Bush in west London to be precise, with the rapper in question being Central Cee.
One fan has revealed their theory on Reddit, and it ties in with the 26-year-old releasing an album, and heading out on tour.
They say: “Eminem and Travis Scott are very likely to be a part the headliners from an insider I know but I’m hearing rumours about Central Cee and it completely makes sense.
“As he is dropping his album in January following with a tour just before festival season in Europe.
“But it would really surprise me if they got all 3 unless they are really aiming for the hiphop route this year as festival republic also owns wireless and this might drag the audience from them but this would be legendary.”
While the fan also goes on to suggest things will be made official next week, adding: “Also the headliners are gonna drop next week according to my insider.”
On top of the three rappers, some other names being mentioned include Chappell Roan, Post Malone and Foo Fighters.
With some previously suggesting the Seattle band fronted by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl will headline this time around.
This comes after claims that a poster supposedly revealing next year’s line-up, which interestingly did include Central Cee on the bill, was leaked online.
Reading and Leeds Festivals run on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the August Bank Holiday weekend.
This year saw Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher headlining as a solo artist.
That was just before he and brother Noel announced they had put their differences to one side, to reform the band and head on tour again.
The Manchester rockers split up in 2009, following a backstage row between the siblings, ahead of a gig in Paris, France.
Central Cee has become hugely popular since bursting on to the scene in 2020 with single Day In The Life.
He’s produced eight top 40 singles, a number one track with Sprinter, a collaboration with fellow UK rapper Dave, which took top spot in the charts for 10 weeks.
He’s the first British rapper to get more than 2 billion streams on Spotify and his debut album proper is due for release next year.
