Keen to open up on what his experience working at Tesco is really like, the employee took to social media to reveal all.

Posting on Reddit, on the r/tesco thread, the man titled his post ‘I hate working at Tesco.’

The frustrated employee then explained that when people order through the chain’s same-day home delivery service, he will always make sure to tamper with their fizzy drinks.

He claimed: “I shake up fizzy cans and bottles before putting it in a Woosh.”

Not only this, but he also shared what he does when faced with annoying customers, as he added: “I silently scream and swear at stupid or rude customers.

“I scream in the chiller.”

Not only does he “hate” the majority of the delivery drivers, but he also revealed the two types of customers he can’t stand.

He posted: “I hate most of the Woosh drivers, they are either rude or a bit n****y.

“I hate how old male customers can say what they want and I don’t retaliate.

“I’m slowly starting to hate the regular customers.”

But that’s not all, as he claimed that he can’t stand it when his co-workers call in sick or when he has to refuse a shift.

He shared: “I hate feeling bad for refusing a shift that’s not my contracted day, I’m still yet to refuse one.

I hate distribution, I always end up smelling of Tesco apple cider

“I hate co-workers who call in sick only because I get asked to cover for them.

“I hate five hour shifts (wastes my day but only get paid £55 for it).”

Insider tip from a Tesco employee

A Tesco employee has revealed a surprising secret about the self-scan trolleys.

According to the worker, random checks on customers using these trolleys are not entirely random.

The checks are actually triggered by a specific customer habit.

If you frequently pick up and put down items without scanning them, you’re more likely to be selected for a check.

This is due to the system detecting suspicious behaviour, which could indicate potential theft.

So, to avoid delays, it’s best to scan items immediately after placing them in your trolley.

As well as this, the Tesco worker explained two other things he can’t stand about his job.

He concluded: “I hate distribution, come on guys why is the stacking awful? I always end up smelling of Tesco apple cider.

“I hate people who use Evri.”

Reddit users react

Reddit users were left stunned by the man’s claims and quickly flocked to the comments, eager to share their thoughts.

One person said: “Get help for your anger issues.”

Another added: “I suspect it doesn’t matter what job you’re in, you’re just an unhappy person!

“Figure out what’s wrong and try to take steps to make yourself happy.”

A third commented: “Tesco isn’t the problem here.”

Whilst someone else advised: “Quit and get a different job.”
