ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The restaurant industry is ever-changing with restaurants opening, closing, relocating, or just doing their thing. Here’s a recap of the latest Capital Region restaurant news, November 25-28.
New bakery opens in Rotterdam
Honey-Mills Bakery, located at 1266 Duanesburg Road, held a grand opening on November 16. The bakery specializes in custom cookies, cakes, and cupcakes. The menu stays the same each week, but the flavors change daily or weekly. Honey-Mills Bakery is open Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Capital Region restaurant inspections: Nov. 18-22
These are the inspections from November 18 to November 22 reported by the NYSDOH divided up by critical violations, non-critical violations and no violations. You can find a list of all restaurant inspections for the last several years on the NYSDOH website.
Cohoes brewery closing after a decade
Table 41 Brewing Company announced the closure in a Facebook post on Sunday. For its last week, Table 41 Brewing is open at 5 p.m. on Monday for Open Mic Night with Matty D, Wednesday for Wing Night, and Friday, November 29 for the final send-off with Matty D. The brewery is located at 188 Remsen Street in Cohoes.
BurgerFi in Latham, Saratoga Springs closing its doors after a decade
BurgerFi’s locations in Latham and Saratoga Springs are permanently closing down. The last day of service will be December 1, with the doors closing for good at 9 p.m.
Two new restaurants opening in Catskill on Friday
Stella’s Pizza, 80 Maple Avenue, and Arianny’s Casa Grande, 601 Main Street, will hold grand openings about one mile away from each other, on Friday. Stella's will close at 9 p.m. and Arianny's will close at 10 p.m.
2025 Schenectady County Restaurant Week announced
The Schenectady County Restaurant Week will return from Monday, Feb. 24 to Sunday, March 2, according to Discover Schenectady. The week will feature restaurants around the county offering fixed-price menus.
Downtown Albany Hot Chocolate Stroll businesses announced
The fifth annual Hot Chocolate Stroll participating businesses have been announced. The stroll is set for Dec. 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year’s Stroll will feature 25 participating restaurants and businesses throughout Downtown Albany.
