I’m A Celebrity fans work out ‘real reason’ Melvin insisted on doing the latest Bushtucker Trial
I’M A Celebrity…Get Out Of Here! fans are convinced Melvin Odoom has told a big fib to his campmates – and they think they know why.
Melvin, 44, volunteered himself to take on a terrifying Bushtucker Trial after boxing champ Barry McGuigan said he would do it.
The radio and TV presenter insisted it was only fair, as he told Barry and the campmates he had never done a trial before.
But viewers of the ITV show were left scratching their heads, as Melvin did a trial when Maura Higgins and Reverend Richard Coles arrived in camp.
Melvin was forced to endure offal being dropped onto his head from Maura and Richard during their stint in the Junkyard Jungle.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan said: “I’m confused, did Melvin not do the trial with Maura and Richard during junkyard time.”
Another added: “He did a trial. Rev and Maura tipped crap on him.”
Other fans, however, are convinced they know the real reason why Melvin offered to take the Bushtucker Trial from Barry.
Some think Melvin was keen to escape one campmate – Dean McCollough.
The pair are currently job sharing ‘water duty’ and Melvin has already shared his annoyance with the Radio 1 star for not pulling his weight.
“Let’s be real Melvin offered to do the trial to get away from Dean,” one viewer said.
Another agreed: “So Dean would do some work!”
This week, the public vote switched and viewers have been voting to keep their favourite celebrity on the show.
As a result, the campmates were allowed to choose among themselves who would do the Bushtucker Trial.
Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse volunteered, along with Barry, but Melvin then told the boxer he would do it instead.
Oti and Melvin took on Tanks of Torture, which saw them standing alongside each other in a giant tank half filled with water.
Their heads were placed inside giant bowls and snakes and spiders were added.
Meanwhile, the pair had mini crocodiles swimming around their legs as Melvin passed stars along a submerged metal bar to Oti.
Incredibly, the pair had great success and ended up winning all 12 stars for camp.
Melvin later said: “Coming back to camp and saying that we got 12 stars felt like winning the World Cup and I don’t even like football!”
N-Dubz star Tulisa then poked fun at his crush on Carol Vorderman, quipping: “Vorderman’s gonna be so proud!”
