EMMERDALE is revealing the dark truth about Ruby Fox-Miligan and her evil dad Anthony in a special flashback.
Anthony (Nicholas Day) arrived on the ITV soap earlier this month, having been estranged from Ruby (Beth Cordingly) for decades.
Meanwhile, daughter Steph (Georgia Jay) finds a photo of Ruby on her 16th birthday.
Although Ruby pretends she doesn’t remember, she is, in fact, deeply troubled.
A special flashback to 1992 gives viewers a further glimpse into her past.
It’s Ruby’s sixteenth birthday, while she remembers getting along well with teenage Rob.
Will Ruby’s dark secret – the reason she cut her family off and fled while pregnant – come to light?
Viewers already know how Anthony and late wife Helen (Sharon Maughan) kicked their daughter out after choosing to be with Caleb Miligan (William Ash).
Now in present day, newcomer Anthony has already been revealing his cruel side.
In upcoming scenes, Ruby is shaken to realise her father is telling the truth about his cancer diagnosis.
Steph persuades Caleb that Ruby and Anthony just need to clear the air, for harmony within both their family and the village.
Ruby extends an olive branch to her dad for Steph and Caleb’s benefit.
However, she quickly distances herself from the seemingly happy family.
In the meantime, Anthony tells Steph that any reconciliation with Ruby seems increasingly unlikely.
He even hints that Steph could leave the village to support him.
Caleb pleads with Ruby to find a way to make things work – and to keep Steph, whom they’ve just reunited with, in their lives.
Earlier this year, the castings of of Nicholas Day as Anthony and Georgia Jay as Steph were announced together.
