BBC star looks totally unrecognisable in fancy dress after major transformation
A BBC star left fans doing a double-take after an incredible transformation into Miss Trunchbull for Musicals Week on Strictly Come Dancing.
Shirley Ballas went through a dramatic makeover to embody the infamous Matilda villain.
But she stunned Strictly fans with her new look when she dressed up as Miss Trunchbull[/caption] The Strictly judge was aged up by her make up team[/caption]She usually appears on TV looking glamorous with her sleek dark hair in perfect curls.
For the costume, the head judge sported a grey wig styled into a tight bun.
She also added padding to give herself a fuller figure, and used makeup to create wrinkles and moles, giving her a much older appearance.
The 63-year-old shared her excitement about the look on social media, posting a behind-the-scenes snap of the transformation and captioning it: “Miss Trunchball is ready for Musicals Week.
“Please tune in now for the show of a lifetime.
“The numbers are simply spectacular. Good luck to all the couples.”
Fans flooded the comments section with praise and disbelief at her altered appearance.
One wrote: “Shirley, this is amazing.”
Another exclaimed: “Oh my goodness!!! What a transformation!!!! Absolutely amazing.”

Shirley’s makeover was part of the extravagant theme night on the show, which saw contestants and judges alike embracing musical theatre.
Several of the dances impressed viewers, but fans particularly loved Sarah Hadland’s Charleston to the song Popular from Wicked.
