'What a disaster': Critics outraged as Trump appoints 'conspiracy theorist' as head of FBI
Donald Trump Saturday announced his appointment of Kash Patel as the director of FBI, leading critics to lash out.
"I am proud to announce that Kashyap 'Kash' Patel will serve as the next Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Kash is a brilliant lawyer, investigator, and 'America First' fighter who has spent his career exposing corruption, defending Justice, and protecting the American People," the president-elect wrote over the weekend on Truth Social.
He added, "He played a pivotal role in uncovering the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax, standing as an advocate for truth, accountability, and the Constitution. Kash did an incredible job during my First Term, where he served as Chief of Staff at the Department of Defense, Deputy Director of National Intelligence, and Senior Director for Counterterrorism at the National Security Council. Kash has also tried over 60 jury trials."

Liberal influencer Harry Sisson said, "Trump just named Kash Patel, a huge conspiracy theorist, as the next director of the FBI."
"America just became a lot less safe," he added.
Former federal prosecutor Joyce Vance said, "Trump throws down the gauntlet. The answer from the Senate MUST be no."
"Kash Patel cannot be put in charge of the FBI," the legal expert added.
Democratic strategist Adam Parkhomenko said, "What a disaster."
"Beyond parody," said artist Art Candee.
Democratic election attorney Marc Elias said, "If you had any question about whether Trump will prioritize investigating and prosecuting his political enemies, this is your answer."
Former GOP political strategist Cheri Jacobus said, "Kash Patel as FBI Director is about as dangerous as it gets. jfc."
