Justin Tucker doinks extra point, misses field goals as wild kicking accuracy struggles continue for Ravens

Justin Tucker consistently missing kicks is one of the NFL’s most surprising storylines this season.

Justin Tucker entered this season as a popular pick for the NFL’s kicking GOAT. Tucker lost his title as the most accurate kicker in the history of football last year, but his combination of power and accuracy made him a possible Hall of Fame inductee through his first 12 years, all with the Baltimore Ravens.

Tucker is having a miserable season this year, and it’s been one of the most surprising NFL storylines of 2024. As the Ravens faced the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 13, Tucker had already missed six field goals and an extra point. You can now make that two missed extra points and eight field goals.

After Mark Andrews’ touchdown to build the Ravens’ lead, Tucker lined up for the extra point. He hit the left upright, as has been a theme this year for him. Watch the kick here:

Tucker lined up from 47 yards in the early third quarter. He missed again:

Tucker field a 53-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. This time he missed wide right.

Almost all of Tucker’s misses have been wide left or off the left upright this year.

Here are some stats on his struggles.

Three missed kicks in one game is surprising for any NFL kicker. It’s especially surprising for Justin Tucker.

Tucker has made less than 73 percent of his field goals this year, which ranks No. 36 in league. He’s never been below 82 percent before.

Tucker has already missed two field goals in the 40-yard range, and four field goals in the 50-yard range this season.

Could Tucker cost Baltimore a playoff game? That’s the nightmare scenario. It’s hard to believe Tucker has been so bad this season, and his fortunes aren’t turning around just yet.
